4.3 Social Media Interactions

5. Genealogy Specific Terms
5.1 Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge when building family trees. Deliberately falsifying genealogical records is prohibited.
5.2 Living Relatives
You may create records for living relatives. However, you must respect their privacy. You warrant that you have obtained the necessary consent from any living individual before posting their personal details (e.g., email, phone number, current address) or photos.
5.3 Deceased Persons
While data protection laws (like GDPR) typically apply to living individuals, we are committed to respecting the memory of deceased persons. You agree not to post information about deceased persons that is defamatory, disrespectful, or that would cause unnecessary distress to living relatives.
5.4 Family Disputes & Neutrality
Genealogy can sometimes lead to disagreements about lineage or facts.
* Neutral Platform: We are a platform for user-generated content, not an arbiter of genealogical truth. We do not adjudicate family disputes.
* Conflicting Data: Different users may have different trees with conflicting info. We generally do not remove one user's data at the request of another unless it violates our Terms (e.g., harassment, privacy of living info).
* Right to Unlink: If you are a living person and object to being included in another user's tree, you may request to be "unlinked" or have your personal data hidden. We prioritize the privacy of living individuals over the completeness of a tree.
5.5 AI Features & "Hallucinations"
Our Service may use AI to suggest ancestors, colorize photos, or write bios. You acknowledge that AI can make mistakes ("hallucinations"). You are responsible for verifying any AI-generated information before accepting it as fact. We disclaim all liability for errors introduced by AI tools.
5.6 DNA Data (If Applicable)
If you upload DNA data:
* You represent that the DNA sample is yours or that you have obtained explicit legal authorization to share it.
* You understand that DNA data is sensitive and usually immutable.
* You grant us permission to process this data to provide ethnicity estimates, matches, and other Service features.
* We will NOT sell, lease, or rent your individual-level DNA data to third parties (including insurers, employers, or law enforcement) without your explicit separate consent, unless compelled by a valid legal order.
